Wordpad
It is very nice that it supports .docx file format. That is something Microsoft can put in their anti-Apple ads. (Apple advertizes that its new OS has native support for that format.) It even supports the OpenDocument format, although I am not sure I have ever seen one of those things. (My Dad had Open Office once, but I got him back to Office 2000, which with updates and the compatability pack is better, at least with standard files everybody uses, because really Office 2007 SP2 is the BEST.) It would also be nice, though if .doc was also supported. A Windows 98 machine I used to use could work with .doc in wordpad, but XP couldn't, and I'm not sure if I ever checked my Vista. I know I can getthatconverter or install Office, but just thought I would mention this. A page break and Spellcheck feature would also be nice.

jeh - The DOC format support in earlier versions of Windows, if I recall correctly, was quite basic - namely Office 95 or even Word 6.0, for that matter. It couldn't easily handle a newer version of DOC - namely 97, 2000, XP, 2003 - let alone 2007 and it's docx format.Now... If Wordpad included a spell checker, page break, etc... then what would the point of buying Office be?
