Workgroup Computers and Shares not showing up in Vista
I have a win2k server with shares on it, I am logging in to vista with the same login as the account on the server. Network is set to private, sharing is custom, discovery is allowed. Nothing but router ever shows up in map.Is there another setting or setup I missed?Glenn

Well, thanks to all who viewed this post, I was after a week of browsing the forums able to find a fix that worked for my problem. Disable your network connection, go to device manager and reenable the NIC card, when you get back to the network screen have it redraw the network connections. All my computers, shares and printers appeared and I was able to map them with no issues. The one thing that continues to happen is at every restart of the Vista system, it looses the map and I have to do the proceedure again to see them in the network map display. It seems the 2 extra protocals that are installed on the NIC card, discovery client and discovery network are not working as they should, in my opion this would be due to the client NOT reconizing the XP or Win2k announcement that is sent by both machines. Who knows, can't say that I do, but it fits the problem logiclly. Glenn
