XP-desktop to XP-notebook network: Mshome is not accessible
With the "Add Network Place" Wizard I have build a home network between my desktop computer and a notebook, both under Windows XP Pro SP3.The shared docs I can see on both computers. On the desktop computer, when I click "View workgroup computers", I see the desktop-pc and the notebook-pc This is okay. But on the notebook, when I click the same, I have two messages:1. Mshome is not accessible. You may not have permissions to use the network resource.2. No more connections can be made to this remote computer at this time, because there are already as many connections as the computer can accept.A week before I had made a wireless connection from the notebook over the hotspot in my Macbook´s Airport to the internet. But this is no more actual. Why this messages an what is to do?1 person needs an answerI do too

HiMaybe this can Help.Make sure that the Software Firewall on each computer allows free local traffic. If you use 3rd party Firewall On, Vista/XP Native Firewall should be Off, and the active Firewall has to adjusted to your Network IP numbers on what is some time called the Trusted Zone (consult your 3rd Party Firewall instructions).General example, http://www.ezlan.net/faq#trustedPlease Note that some 3rd party Software Firewalls keep blocking aspects of Local Traffic even it they are turned Off (disabled). If possible configure the Firewall correctly, or totally uninstall it to allow clean flow of local network traffic. If the 3rd party software is uninstalled or disables, make sure that Windows native Firewall is On .Windows XP File Sharing - http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;304040Printer Sharing XP - http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/using/networking/expert/honeycutt_july2.mspxWindows Native Firewall setting for Sharing XP -http://support.microsoft.com/kb/875357In Win XP pro you can Visually see the Permission/Security setting, and configure them to your liking.http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/using/security/learnmore/accesscontrol.mspx#securityTabWhen finished with the setting of the system it is advisable to Reboot all the hardware including the Router and all computers involved.Jack-MVP Windows Networking. Many thanks for your help! Excuse please my late answer, I had to do other things.I have tested my third party firewall Online Armor, but the settings for the trusted zone are okay.In Ezlan´s FAQ I have found the question "How to configure a Laptop (or any computer) to connect to more than one network?". It says: Windows let you configure two TCP/IP stacks.I think, this could be a solution for my problem, I will try it.
