XP Computer No longer Accessible On Network
WIN XP Media Center Ed. Version 2002 SP3. This is my main computer. I have two other computers running XP on a wireless net. Network once worked 100%, but now the main computer is not accessible from the other two. So, main computer can access files on either of the wireless computers and the wireless computers can access each other. When I try to access the main computer from either of the others I get the same error message: DELLXXXXX is not accessible. You might not have permission to use this network resource. Contact the administrator of this server to find out if you have access permissions. Access is denied.I set up sharing for "EVERYBODY" with no passwords nor any other security feature. There is no reason for passwords as I am the only user of any of the computers. The wireless net is WPA2 with a very complex password.I have run the Network Setup Wizard and get the following message: Cannot Complete the Network Wizard. An error occurred during configuration of the network on this computer. You can configure your network manually or you can urn the wizard again with different settings. The odd thing is that this computer once was able share files and folders with the other two. I have no idea what changed or when it changed. What I need is some help repairing the capability of the machine to share its files nicely on the network.1 person needs an answerI do too

HiEveryone does Not mean Everyone that wants to logon. If accounts are set only for John, Jill, and Jack, using the Everyone setting in the Folder Permissions saves the effort of setting Permission separately for John, Jill, and Jack.Everyone else is Not in the Everyone group, only John, Jill, and Jack. What that means? It means that all the Individual Users have to be established on each computer network that participated in sharing. Then if you want to same permission to all of them, you do not have to enter them one by one, you can use Everyone. If you do not care about LAN security, then enable the Guest account on all computers, and configure it in the permissions. Thanks very much for the quick reply --Actually, I have just solved all of the problems. Somehow, the anonymous login value in the register had been set to "one" by something or other. I changed the value to "0" (zero) and everything worked.I also note that the oddball XP Media version has some extra "security" settings that had to be changed to allow access to the entire root drive on the computer.Anyway -- Problem solved!<Jack MVP> wrote in message news:Email removed for privacy...HiEveryone does Not mean Everyone that wants to logon. If accounts are set only for John, Jill, and Jack, using the Everyone setting in the Folder Permissions saves the effort of setting Permission separately for John, Jill, and Jack.Everyone else is Not in the Everyone group, only John, Jill, and Jack. What that means?
