After reinstalling XP Pro I no longer have the option to put the computer in standby mode. When it comes time to do so only the shut down and restart icons are available. The standby button is faded and not usable. Also previously I was greeted with my name and password option which also disappeared. Secondly, when scrolling up and down pages, the screen rolls into the action and is not smooth. Sounds like you failed to install the correct drivers for your system, which would either come from your PC makers site or the individual HW makers if a generic PC
