Yet another WiFi failure after updating W8 to W8.1

Hi all,

I have a HP Pavilion 15 Note book, my router is Zyxel P-2812HNU (L)-Fx Series 802.11n VDSL2 provided by my ISP Elisa Oy, it uses WPA2 encryption.

After updating from W8 to W8.1, my WLAN connection is not seen by the computer. It sees a number of other networks in the building, including others which clearly belong to the same ISP (albeit the naming convention of those networks appears to suggest that they are the older ADSL type), but my SSID is not picked up. WiFi is clearly working, but

I have looked at several articles here, I didn't find anything with exactly the same symptoms, but I have tried deleting the original AP and creating is anew following the instructions here...

...but obviously without making any changes as I don't need to go back to WPA. At stage 14 of milindsmart's answer, my network is still not shown in the list of available networks to connect to.

Any thoughts, please?

Did you mean that even manually setup the wireless connection, still get the failure?

Hav you tried to install the latest Network Adapter drivers from the manufacture website? Please also get the latest BIOS and chipest drivers (you cna refer to the user manual)

Mean while, try to reset router and update the firmware of the router.

Why can't I find a wireless network?

Have been able to download BIOS and WiFi drivers from the manufacturer. And yes, even after recreating the access point, the computer cannot see the network.

As for the link, none of the circumstances fits the situation I described:

"The wireless switch on your PC is turned off."
No - numerous other devices see it perfectly well.

"Airplane mode is turned on."
No, the computer sees every other router in the immediate vicinity except mine.

"Your PC is too far from the wireless router or access point."
Less than a metre, should be fine.

"Your router and the network adapter in your PC might not work together."
They did BEFORE the computer was updated from W8 to W8.1...

"The wireless router or access point is turned off or isn't working properly."
No - numerous other devices see it perfectly well.

"There's interference from other devices."
The only change in circumstances is the update of the compter to W8.1, all other machines in the building continue as they always have.

"The router or access point is busy."
No - even when all other devices are disconnected, the computer cannot see it. It worked finr BEFORE the update.

"The network you're looking for isn't set to broadcast its network name."
No - numerous other devices see it perfectly well.

"Your network administrator has blocked the use of certain networks."
No, I did not.

"The wireless network adapter is in monitor mode."
No - it sees other wireless networks fine.
