If you just delete this partition or remove contents your system will not boot. It is the active boot partition. Although there are ways to rearrange your partition config after the fact, and ways to prevent this partition arrangement from happening to begin with, you should really just leave it aloneThere is nothing wrong with having this small boot partition, even if you never intend on using bitLocker. Please remember to click Mark as Answer on the post that helps you, and to click Unmark as Answer if a marked post does not actually answer your question. ..... I'd like to access the system partition on Win7, copy out the contents and use it for a project I am working on ..... Martin 1. Download the small Puppy Linux ISO file which you are going to burn then boot to. This will see the system partition as ‘data’. Get it here http://puppylinux.org/main/index.php?file=Overview%20and%20Getting%20Started.htm Put a blank CD-R in the drive, right-click the downloaded ISO file and choose Burn disc image. 2. To run it, put the Puppy CD in the drive, restart the computer and boot from it (you may have to change a BIOS setting to boot from an optical drive). Wait a little while for it to load and copy files to RAM. When the Desktop appears, your drives will appear along the bottom of the screen, e.g. FD0, SDA1, SDB1, SR0, etc. 3. Put a USB memory stick in and drag the contents of the system partition to it. Remember to single-click folders not double-click them.

open an elevated command prompt-type diskpart and use that tool to view disk partitions and work with them You can search Microsoft or TechNet for the commands and more information

Kindest regards, Martin You can assign a drive letter to the partition in Disk Management and you will then be able to view it as any other partition with a letter. However, use caution as noted in other posts here. Do not delete anything. I would not leave the letter assigned to avoid accidental changes to the partition! Please remember to click Mark as Answer on the post that helps you, and to click Unmark as Answer if a marked post does not actually answer your question. Hi, The 100MB system partition includes the system recovery console. You could use bcdboot /s command to copy the boot environment files from system partition. For more information, you can refer to http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dd744347(WS.10).aspx Best Regards, Niki Please remember to click "Mark as Answer" on the post that helps you, and to click "Unmark as Answer" if a marked post does not actually answer your question.
