action center failure
whenever I get an alert from the action center and choose the option to resolve it from there, along with any "Do you trust/want to" that comes up, the issue is never resolved, now, Im not talking about any specific issue, ive tried this with several "alerts" every one of them can never be resolved through the "action center" Windows 7 Ultimate

HiThis isn't unusual. The action center runs a set of checks and diagnostics for each component that may be misbehaving. It cannot always fix every problem, especially those that are not common and documented. You want to make sure that the Problem Reporting component is set to stay up to date with all of the currently reported issues.Open Action Center and select 'Change Action Center Settings'.At the top of the next window, select the 'How does Action Center check for problems' link.Read that description and note the Problem Reporting settings description at the bottom. The problem reporting is important to keep Action Center up to date on any current or emerging issues.I haven't seen any specific bugs reported recently concerning the Action Center?Keep an eye on it and let us know if you find something specific.Hope this helps.Thank You for using Windows 7

I've already made sure that that setting was enabled, the "alerts" have been ranging anywhere from third party software that I installed, to the windows defender to an occasional alert to the network firewall, each one that I have tried to resolve through the action center itself never can be resolved that way. this has actually been an issue on mine for a while, pretty much since Ive had it installed, probably a couple of months now. one note, right after the initial installation of Win 7 I installed Bit Defender security suite. Im not sure if somehow bit defender has anything to do with it, but its probably the only third party application on there that would affect the action center, i havent added a lot yet untill I got a better feel for the OS

Please see the following website.

There are compatibility issues. That is why although the BitDefender programs are enabled, Action Center still reports that they are turned off. If you are sure that the programs are running properly, you can simply disable these messages.

well the problem doesnt just stop with BitDefender, if you notice the screenshot, then you see that it carries over to the firewall and Windows Defender also. Ive actually disabled BitDefender on there and have Windows Defender and the network firewall enabled instead

As you can see, the errors has indicated the conflictions between BitDefender and the security programs in Windows 7. You may just remove BitDefender and see if the issue is resolved.Arthur Xie - MSFT

Actually it ended up that that wasnt the problem,, at least not directly, I uninstalled BitDefender and the problem persisted so I started looking at registry keys related to the action center,I compared values with another Win7 machine and found one that ended up being the problem, it was at "HKCU\Software\Classes\Local SettingsMuiCache\1E\52C64B7E" which was supposed to be "@ActionCenterCPL,-8" and the RG_SZ value was missing completely, so I added the key and open the action center back up and the alerts were no longer there. that was the value of the key on a fresh install. I dont know if somehow BitDefender had something to do with it or not
