administrative options from across LAN. Non-Domain Systems
Hi, I'd like to know how I can run a command on a target machine with the permissions of an administrator of that machine however the command would be issued from another computer on the network. The computers are not on a domain system so everything is local accounts. Scenario: My kid is using a computer which I have admin rights on. He's been told to get off and won't. I want to remotely shutdown the computer by issuing a command from my computer to shut it down... how do I do this? Any help would be appreciated.

The shutdown command has parameters that can be used to shutdown remote systems. If you need to run this command using admin credentials you can use the "runas" command to run the shutdown command. For this to work, you'll need to use an admin account with the same password on both machines. Visit: anITKB.com, an IT Knowledge Base.
