autoruns: Windows OOBE Balloon Reminder
In tracing down a performance issue with Autoruns I came across the following listings under scheduled tasks. My research suggests they are files related to Microsoft product verification. If so, do they need to run on a regularly scheduled basis, or can I disable or delete them, considering my computer is now about 8 yrs old? C:\WINDOWS\System32\OOBE\oobebaln.exe /sys /r /n:1C:\WINDOWS\System32\OOBE\oobebaln.exe /sys /r /n:21 person needs an answerI do too

You could delete them, but just in case something odd happens, disabling a scheduled task is reversible, while recreating a deleted task is a bit more difficult.
