bluetooth - receiving files
hello - and another teething problem lol ok under vista and xp i could send files from my phone via bluetooth to the laptop with no issues or extra steps except where to save the file. now under windows 7 i have to load the windows bluetooth device and press "receive file" then run through a quick wizard to receive and save them, is there an option i can change anywhere to allow the receiving of files from a paired device to be automatic like it was with vista and xp? i've had a look through the windows firewall and bluetooth manager settings and can't see any option like that in there ps i'm using a samsung soul for the bluetooth sending and i've never had a problem with it via xp or vista so it has to be a windows 7 setting

Control Panel/Autoplay should show you the settings you want.Rating posts helps other users Mark L. Ferguson MS-MVP

Hi, The default Bluetooth driver that comes with Vista doesn't have the option to auto accept files. You will also need to use the Bluetooth File Transfer Wizard to receive the file. If in Vista you are able to receive files without using the Bluetooth File Transfer Wizard, most probably it is a non-MS bluetooth driver. Try installing that driver on your Windows 7 machine and see if it'll work. Hope this helps.Jabez Gan [MVP] - http://www.msblog.org Contributing Author for: (Sybex) MCTS: Windows Server 2008 Applications Infrastructure Configuration Study Guide: Exam 70-643
