after windows update was automatically installed on Oct 15 2010 I had no access to internet. I could ping my router but couldn't access it. I restored to previous update of Oct 9 and it was ok until it reinstalled again on Oct 16. The same thing. How do I block just this update. I am running Windows7 on a new (1 week) HP desktop

Hi, thank you for posting here. Can you find which update package or KB number installed will lead to this problem? If you don’t want to install this KB, you can uninstall the update package in Control Panel\Programs and Features\View installed updates. And will not download this KB again. Hope it helps. thanx that worked except I had to hide the update after deleting so it didn't re-install.By the way it was kb2360131. H B
