can't find product or version info
after initial startup of computer I get window that says: can't find product or version info This is my inherited computer from my deceased aunt. I don't have her purchased discs. I hope I won't need them. I have used this PC for several years and hope to continue. I get timed out messages quickly when using word and other programs. I have seen a Forget Me Not window. I thought while trying to follow Adobe directions for upgrade, which I got lost in, may have created the issue. So I uninstalled and re-installed Adobe programs. I defraged the computer but I am hoping someone can defrag me. Thanks

Well, there is not much we can do to help, since you are our eyes in this matter. Does the dialog display any other information about from what you noted? To be honest, it sounds like you need to do a clean install and refresh the system. Which version of Windows is installed? You can find this information by clicking Start > right click Computer > click Properties. Take note of the version information and post back.Teching It Easy: With Windows |ActiveWin |Notebooks | Microsoft MVP
