cannot open a shared folder from Server even i have a read/write permission on that particular folder
Hi Professional, Can anyone help me...In our organization we have 3 servers and act as ADS,SQL and IIS server respectively..Now one of my client using windows 7 and facing the issue like ,she cannot open one particular folder in ADS server,even she have a read/write permission for the same..but she able to view and work on different shared folders in the same ADS server while having the read/write permission..I tried lot of R& D.but no one can help me...Kindly do the needful.. Please check both sharing permission and NTFS permission. She cannot access the folder if any of the permission settings is incorrect.Arthur Xie - MSFT

Giving permissions to the users on folders always follow this approach: -Full control shared permission on the folder to the user -Required NTFS permission that the user deserves to have on the folder and remember, summing up both the share and NTFS permission always the least restrictive permission takes place.
