i have an NV53A gateway laptop, and when since i got this laptop, when i use caps lock and number lock, there would be a pop up on screen showing that it was locked or unlocked. there was also a visual thing for the volume. i have accidentally turned off the on screen notifications and i can't find how or where to turn them back on. anyone delt with this before??

That would be a Gateway program that is (was) giving you the onscreen display. Look through your laptop's documentation- it's probably in there somewhere, most likely with keyboard or input settings. Or look through all your programs for Gateway stuff- it may not all be in one location. My Gateway never did that, so I don't know if it has that option, or if it was just never turned on in Vista (which was on it when I bought it. I've since upgraded to Windows 7). SC Tom

Try going to the following link under Users Guide and download the owners manual and go to page 46 near the bottom. How to recover pre-installed software and drivers. nope, isn't what i'm looking for 0-(, all it was is an app that lets you use your mouse to turn caps lock or num lock on and off with your mouse

Hey Zeb McBride I has the same problem with my Gateway! I enter to the link that Schloicka give to you, and I download the LaunchManager Application, so install that, restart your lap, and the visuals will come back I just do that and it works, really!
