Refer to your computer manual or if you didn't get one, you will find it on the computer mftr.'s tech support website. The fingerprint reading software may also have Help files for you to consult.MS-MVP - Elephant Boy Computers - Don't Panic!

I need to know if it is before I try to install mine and how I get his off.Hi dramaqueen,If you bought a computer from someone, definitely you might want to start using it fresh. It that case, I would recommend you to re-install your Operating System. Whether the laptop has somebody else's fingerprint or not, you can be assured only your fingerprint will be recognized by the system after setting it up accordingy and properly.I hope this helps.

Clean install is the best option when you buy laptop from someone else rather than manufactor. You don't know what former user has done to PC or what is infection. Fresh install would like start software from day one and as new.

If I acquired a used computer, no matter who previously owned it, thefirst thing I would do with it would be to reinstall the operatingsystem cleanly. You have no idea how the computer has been maintained, what has been installed incorrectly, what is missing, what viruses andspyware there may be, etc. I wouldn't want to live with somebodyelse's mistakes and problems, possibility of kiddy p0rn, etc., and Iwouldn't recommend that anyone else do so either.
