This is the conventional way to stop it, open a Run window (Windows key+R), type cmd and press Enter, now type CHKNTFS /D (the capitals are for clarity only) and press Enter. Alternatively, go to a Run window (Windows key+R), type regedit and press Enter. In the left pane navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Session Manager. In the right pane double-click BootExecute and change the value from something like ‘autocheck autochk * /p \??\C:’ to ‘autocheck autochk *’ (not the quotation marks).
