connecting vista premium laptop with a wireless BB connection to pc running xp sp 1.
Dear Alli am in a bit of a fix and am hoping that u guys would help
me out. i have a laptop running vista ultimate. i use a cdma based EVDO
wireless broadband connection (it simply rocks..3.1 MBps). i want to
connect another pc running xp SP1 to my laptop so that it can log on to
the internet by using my wireless broadband connection. i did connect
the 2 pcs through an ethernet cross connect cable. connection went
smoothly showing connectivity at 1gbps. now the problem is that
internet connection on the xp system is not working. plus when i ping
the xp system from my laptop i get a time out error whereas the ping
from xp system to the laptop is working fine. i would appreciate if i
could a step by step guide on making the subject connection. thanks in advance to everyone for their support and patience.regards

Hi,
Thank you for your post.
Regarding the issue, please refer to the following Knowledge Base:
Using Crossover Cables in Home or Peer-to-Peer Networks
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/278870
Meanwhile, I would like to share the following document with you:
Using ICS (Internet Connection Sharing)
http://windowshelp.microsoft.com/Windows/en-US/help/bfd3bd31-82f0-4b9c-9cde-fb92bc2b14771033.mspx
Based on my knowledge, I am not sure if the ICS can work via a crossover cable. If the issue persists, please try some alternate method, such as set up a LAN with a router or build a wireless ad-hoc.
