disabling UAC
i have problem with some software wich 1 recomend to diable User Account Control but problem is that in account settings/User account control i see only 4 positions about " notify me when:" but no turn off option plzz tell me how to turn it offmany thx

The lowest option on the slider "Never notify" is the same as turn of UACRay

Like VistaGuyRay said, never notify to the end-user appears the same as being off. And if you want to get rid of the prompts that'll do the trick.There is however a difference between that and turning it off, if you turn it off your applications on the administrative desktop will run with full admin rights - which is unwise. With never notify however essentually the system automatically accepts the prompts.

Thanks for the clarification Paul, but I do not agree.When you set the slider to "Never notify" it truly disables UAC (after reboot). Now all your applications will run with full admin rights and IE Protected Mode is Off.This is different from the silent elevation you refer to. That setting is only available from Group Policy as "Elevate without prompting" in "User Account Control: Behavior of the elevation prompt for administrators in Admin Approval Mode".templin is requested to disable UAC. Setting the UAC slider to never notify will do the trick in his case.Ray

Many thx guysthat's what i have expectedjust stupid game wont start and customer servise saying to turn it off.So now its they turn to something about it.:)
