encrypt some folders
Good evening,
How are you? I want to encrypt
some folders in Windows 7, for example some pastes of my documents. Is it possible? How?
Thanks!

Hi,
What’s the meaning of the pastes? File information or other information? Can you descript the information more detail?
Usually, in Windows 7, you can encrypt the document via following two methods:
1. Using
Encrypting File System. It can encrypt certain file or folder.
2. Using
BitLocker feature to encrypt the whole drive.
Thanks,

Hello Novak,
Does the Encrypting File System (EFS) need password?
When I’m talking about pastes I’m just talking about folders.
Thanks,
Santana

To answer your question, it need not type password when the file is encrypted by your current user account. If you login on a different account or someone else login
on this machine, the file cannot be accessed with “Access denied” message when trying to open it. Actually, the encrypted folder can only be accessed via the user who encrypts it. If other user would like to access it, it should type the original
user’s name and password.
