error 80072EFE and no internet access
There are posts all over the forums on this. I've actually fixed it but am wondering if anyone else has had or heard of the same problem.
HP d530 SFF computer
Windows 7 Pro
1.75 gigs ram
Fresh and clean install.
after installing the entire office suite microsoft security essentials and all the necessary drivers from HP i started having occasional problems.
sometimes after booting the network icon says " no internet access "
sometimes disabling the network card and re-enabling corrected the problem.
Thought i had a driver problem or network card problem. so i installed a network card. worked fine for a day or two but the problem came back.
so i kept digging and looking around. no viruses and no spyware. no rootkits installed.
i looked into the services and found 3 that were not microsoft. 1 being bonjour and 1 being lightscribe i forget the other. so i disabled them and found it worked fine.
as it turns out the lightscribe service was my problem. how in the world does the lightscribe service stop internet?
