Hi Jay, Thank you for the post. The error code 815 means that the broadband network connection could not be established on your computer because the remote server is not responding. Also, I notice that the connection was fine for a few days and broke suddenly. In this case, I suggest contacting your Internet Service Provider (ISP) to check the issue first. If the connection can be established by using other device/system, please create a new administrator account on the Windows Vista machine to troubleshoot the issue: 1. Click Start, type user account, and click the User Accounts control panel. 2. In the User Account control panel, click Manager another account. 3. Click Create a new account, type an account name, select Administrator, and then click Create Account. 4. Logoff and logon with the new account and establish the connection to check if the issue persists. Hope it helps. Sincerely, Joson Zhou Microsoft Online Community Support

Hi I found this on another forum and thought I'd post it here because I'm sure it will help people with this problem. This problem seems to sometimes be caused by annoying software adding a connection to Network Connections which configures itself as default for some reason. The result is that you may be trying to connect to the wrong ISP! Just delete this connection item if you have it. Joson, Thank you for your response. My question is similar although the problem that I have is that I bought a Fujitsu Lifebook right out of the box, am routing through to the internet via a Asus wireless router and have never connected to the internet wirelessly. My ISP has confimed my account is active and my logon and passwords are valid. The computer registers that I am logged on to the modem and can access all of its functionality, but I am still getting error 815 andhave now tried 2 different ISPs to confirm that they are not the problem. I am able to log on to both using a different computer logging Windows XP. Based on the issues referenced here - it sure seems like a configuration caused my Vista. Based on the details above, could you see any additional remedies that I could try to access the internet? Thank you, in advance, for any advice or suggestions you may have. Best regards, SMac

I'm having a similar problem-I recently gota new PC with Vista Ultimate. I've been online for three days without a problem, and last night I got disconnected and couldn't get back online. It kept saying error 815: no response from remote server. I read that it might be a username/password problem, but my old PC (with win XP) can connect without a problem, and does so with no username or password. What do I need to do?
