That is good that you cleaned up the other items. The scanners can't tell if the startup item is legitimate or a leftover item from the infection, so it will leave them in your startup procedure and you now have to remove it manually. You can find and remove the offending startup item using Autoruns as described in the earliers post from Jose dated Thursday, January 27, 2011.Do, or do not. There is no try.I decided to save up points for a new puppy instead of a pony!

I tried your advise. The anti malware programs did delete alot of stuff but the problem remains. I still get an error message when I rebooted. Something not shown loads and it looks like it automatically drops into my start button on the toolbar. Weird.

MarkThat's part of a report about Autoruns whereas I was interested in a report about c:/windows/msvd94sv.dll. Hope this helps, Gerry Cornell

Please post a copy of the Report.Have a look in the System and Application logs in Event Viewer for Errors and Warnings and post copies here. Don't post any from than more than 48 hours ago. You can access Event Viewer by selecting Start, Control Panel, Administrative Tools, and Event Viewer. When researching the meaning of the error, information regarding Event ID, Source and Description are important. A tip for posting copies of Error Reports! Run Event Viewer and double click on the error you want to copy. You will see a button resembling two pages. Click the button and close Event Viewer. This places a copy of the report into your Clipboard. Paste into the body your message. Make sure that this is the first paste after exiting from Event Viewer.Hope this helps, Gerry Cornell
