Have a look in the System and Application logs in Event Viewer forErrors and Warnings and post copies here. Don't post any more than 48hours ago.You can access Event Viewer by selecting Start, Control Panel,Administrative Tools, and Event Viewer. When researching the meaningof the error, information regarding Event ID, Source and Descriptionare important.A tip for posting copies of Error Reports! Run Event Viewer and doubleclick on the error you want to copy. In the window, which appears is abutton resembling two pages. Click the button and close EventViewer. Now start your message (email) and do a paste into the body ofthe message. Make sure this is the first paste after exiting fromEvent Viewer. Hope this helps, Gerry Cornell

I cannot check but the file extension could linked to Microsoft System Management Server.http://www.tech-faq.com/understanding-systems-management-server-sms.htmlDoes the error occur during the boot process or later?Hope this helps, Gerry Cornell

Make sure this is the first paste after exiting fromEvent Viewer. Is the computer a standalone or networked computer? You can probably stop the error using Autoruns. To identify what loads when you boot use Autoruns (freeware fromMicrosoft).http://www.microsoft.com/technet/sysinternals/ProcessesAndThreads/Autoruns.mspxWith Autoruns you can uncheck an item, which disables it fromstarting,or you can right click an item and then delete it. If youuncheck you can recheck to re-enable the item. It is a much saferapproach than editing the Registry and better than using msconfig..Another useful feature of the programme is that you can right click anitem and select Search Online to get information about the itemselected. You should uncheck the item until we have discovered the status of the software application generating the error on your computerHope this helps, Gerry Cornell
