fatal error c0000034 applying update operation 282 of 115544
I had several Windows 7 Pro 64bit workstations not start properly this morning with the error message ' fatal error c0000034 applying update operation 282 of 115544' I found post which suggested method to remove failed update and that worked. I have one workstation, same config that had same messaeg but with '117059' instead of orginal '115544' and the fix requested I remove a code that was non-existent o nthis workstation. Any thoughts? Thanks Bob

Hi Bob. I would like to jump on your thread if that's OK and ask others 'what now?' We had similar problems this morning with SP1 on 64 bit editions of Win 7. From checking the web it would seem this is very common issue with 64 bit Win 7. The best fix I found was here: http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_7-system/fatal-error-c0000034-on-boot-after-service-pack-1/5f7127e8-9887-4f01-aaa5-9729b69544b7 However, now that I have the laptops back at the pre-SP1 status I want to know what us 64 bit users are supposed to do now? As IT professionals we need to keep systems up to date but this SP just completely screws up our systems. If group policy in WSUS forces this update on other users then it will cause major issues for companies. Does anyone know if Microsoft is addressing this? Thanks Bob, and thanks all.
