fingerprint id to password sign in
Setting up my new HP laptop with Windows 7 - friend had me set up with fingerprint id. Hard time getting to read it. Frustrating when it takes multiple swipes to open. How do I set sign in for password and eliminate fingerprint?

HP Model? Try this for a size 1. Press your Windows ORB key + R ( box would appear ) 2. type compmgmt.msc 3. Computer Management Appears > on Left Details Pane look for Device Manager ( click that ) 4. now look at the right details pane look for Biometrics 5. expand it look for the device associated in your HP ( right click then disable it ). Hope it helps. CEH.ECSA.MVP Windows Security

Hey Milo, THANKS for getting back to me. The HP model is dv6-3230us. I followed all of your directions but when I got to #5 - I could not get it to allow me to right click to disable the fingerprint. Is there something else I can do? Thanks in advance for all your help!

Hi Sandrajo49, Alright what are the things you see when you expand the Biometrics ( + ) then look at the item that appears below it ( biometrics ). There should be only with a word "Fingerprint" or something else right click on that and choose disable. - better yet List it here. Regards,CEH.ECSA.MVP Windows Security
