general question about what will be needed to update once window 7 released
what will you need to update ,in order to enjoy all features of windows 7,i see they will have touch screen feature,i know you will need a touch screen monitor,but what else should be upgraded(ram,video card,etc.)dj

The simple answer would be to look at the minimum system requirements which can be found here:http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windows-7/beta-download.aspxThat would mean a CPU that's at least 1 GHz, 1 GB of RAM, 16 GB of available disk space and a video card that can do DirectX 9 with 128 MB of RAM. Anything beyond that is gravy.As long as your system at least meets those requirements, you should be good to go. You don't absoloutely NEED to have a touch screen, even though it might be nice to have one.

The touchscreen is not new it is in Vista also. They got rid of having a seperate Tablet verion of windows and intergrated into windows. So short answer is you need a tablet PC to use all the touchscreen features.Tim Comes

@ Tim Comes1 - OR... You could use a system like the HP TouchSmart - which is an all-in-one that has a touch screen... OR a Surface table...Look for more models to come after Win 7 is released.
