giant cursor on Windows 7 ultimate
hi, anyone seen a solution for the giant cursor issue with Windows 7 ultimate and ATI HD 5700 series graphics cards? i've tried currrent drivers, no use at all, the cursor leaps to about 3 times it's normal size, oddly it will randomly go back to normal size - no one program causes or rectifiys the issue. if i was playing video games I might live with it, but as a desiggner it's driving me batty. a reboot fixes it for an inderterminate period.rgds jc

Hi,This ATI HD 5700 graphics card is newly released recently, it may take sometime to eveluate the compability with windows 7. It has not shown up in the compatible centre, see http://www.microsoft.com/windows/compatibility/windows-7/en-us/Search.aspx?type=Hardware&s=ATI%20HDWhat is the model of your MOBO?I would suggest flash the bios to the latest update and update your chipset driver as this was resolved somewhere else this way.

I agree with Magon and Vegan that the issue can be related to the display card driver. You may need to wait for newer driver updates released to resolve the issue. In the meantime, you can try the following suggestions and check the result. Please first go into Safe Mode (Restart computer, press the F8 key when the boot menu pops up, select [Safe Mode], and boot up) and check if the issue still occurs. What is the result? If the issue does not occur in Safe Mode, please try install the latest video card driver by going to ATI website. If the issue persists, you also can try Clean Boot. (Please refer to the steps for Windows Vista in this knowledge base (KB) article) If the issue disappears in the Clean Boot environment, we can use a 50/50 approach to quickly narrow down which entry is causing the issue. Also, please check if the issue occurs in all pointer schemes. To change the pointer scheme, please go to Control Panel -> Mouse -> Pointers. Hope this helps. Regards, Linda
