help pleasee...
ok here's my situation. I have access to the internet, i can go on yahoo messenger and other internet using programs. what i can't get is my internet explorer or mozilla firefox or any other internet browser to surf pages. it gives me a not responding page. What i think is wrong is that i deleted a file by mistake from my control panel that was made by microsoft corporation. i have windows vista premium w/ service pack 2. i tried system restore but the file was still deleted. after i deleted the file, the internet browser situation popped up. i think i might need to download what ever i deleted but i cant remember the exact name of the program i deleted. can someone help me find whats wrong...thnx.

Hi, How do you connect to the internet? You cannot delete things from the Control Panel, so I am not really sure what you're talking about.

This sounds like a winsock problem. So you might try searching the internet for something along the lines of repairing winsock in Vista. Not sure if it will help but you might try the System File Checker. Run cmd.exe as administrator and type 'sfc /scannow' As a final suggestion you may try doing arepair of Vista. To do this you boot from your Vista CD and watch for the menu item that says repair this computer. Hope that helps. W

Hi, The issue sounds like a DNS issue. Could you please reset your DNS and check the issue again? After resetting DNS, please open a CMD window and ping www.microsoft.com, then please post the result on the forum. Thanks.
