hyper-v on non pro, windows 8.1

Hello everyone!

I was developing a windows universal app at my internship until it ran out. I still need to finish the application but i was using one of the company computers for the development.

Now im pretty much screwed due to not having Windows 8.1 Professional on my home computer(I have regular windows 8.1).

This because i dont have the hyper-v functionality needed in order to run the Windows phone emulator.

I really need help to either find another emulator that works, or some way to get hyper-v functionality on my machine even tough it doesnt user windows 8.1 pro.

Really need quick and good answers on this!

I am a student so dont really have that much money to spend on upgrading windows.

Hi,

I would like to say that to use Hyper-v feature, we need following prerequirement:

  • Windows 8 Pro or Enterprise 64 bit Operating System
64 bit processor with Second Level Address Translation (SLAT)
    4GB system RAM at minimum
    BIOS-level Hardware Virtualization support

For the regular Windows 8.1, there is no such feature.

You may have to find other Windows phone emulator or virtual machine apps if you get hardware support on your PC.
