the windows home screen is empty and ive searched for the store 

Open a Command Prompt as an Administrator.

In the Administrator Command Prompt

type or paste the following command:

powershell -ExecutionPolicy Unrestricted Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register $Env:SystemRoot\WinStore\AppxManifest.xml

hit Enter.

Now in that same Administrator Command Prompt type or paste: start "" "ms-windows-store:"

Try to press Win + S, then type just "Store" there.

Make sure you have an Microsoft Account when accessing the store, try the suggestions posted by S.Sengupta, let us know the results.

If issue insists, please upload us the screenshot of the all apps list, store is usually under the "S" part.
