installation software by GPO to vista client
hi all i have a problemit is that i am trying to deploy the office communicator R2 by gpo from server 2008 to vista client with auto install optionso that users will get the software at the time of their logon.when i test with one user,the software is succcefully installed BUT when it is going to start ,it doesn't work.the os says the application is terminated .i have tested with verious option like publish ,assign BUT it doesn't workBUT when i install the software manually on the vista ,it work well so plz tell what will be the cause of the problem i am looking forward your responds thanks in advance

Hi, Thank you for your post. Regarding deploying office communicator R2, there are three ways: 1. Using Microsoft Systems Management Server 2003 (SMS) or Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager 2007 R2. 2. Active Directory Group Policy. 3. Windows logon scripts. Firstly, please check the Event Log on the problematic client and see if there is some related information about the reason why Communicator is terminated. At this time, please also check whether installing Communicator by a logon script will work or not. You may save the following string to a BAT file and configure it as the logon script. msiexec /qn /i \\server\share\Communicator.msi Meanwhile, I would like to share the following related information as well: Deploying Communicator 2007 R2 http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dd441330(office.13).aspx Hope this helps.
