internet not working
the ipv4 and ipv6 both read no internet access but the computer is connected to the network

Hi there - What operating system are you using? Also, can you please let us know the type of Internet connection and hardware you have (e.g. cable connection, broadband, dial-up, etc). Also it might be a good idea to verify that you have a link light on the hub, switch, or router you're using when you connect the Ethernet cable to the device, and make sure that the public connection is functioning correctly (the link that goes to the ISP). If you go to the command prompt and type IPCONFIG /ALL, see if the adapter has a valid IP address for that network segment. If the cable is not plugged in correctly, the response you'll see in IPCONFIG is "media disconnected". If you get an IP address of 169.254.x.x, then that means your computer was unable to obtain a lease from your DHCP server. Visit: anITKB.com, an IT Knowledge Base.
