Please see http://www.officeforlawyers.com/howask.htmWhat kind of modem is it? Do you have the computer set for DHCP (dynamically assigned addresses)? Wired? Wireless? We need a lot more info to give you a solid answer. -B- http://www.officeforlawyers.com | http://www.onenote-tips.com Author: The Lawyer's Guide to Microsoft Outlook

O.K., so your cable modem has a static IP address. Do you have any kind of firewall behind the cable modem or is your computer just plugged straight into the cable modem? If you're plugged directly into the cable modem, as I suspect, does your cable modem have a DHCP server in it that gives out IP addresses to the computer(s) behind it? Most don't in my experience. -B- http://www.officeforlawyers.com | http://www.onenote-tips.com Author: The Lawyer's Guide to Microsoft Outlook
