my laptop is infected with the lsas.blaster.keyloger worm not letting me get to my virus cleaner but can still get to c drive. what can I do.1 person needs an answerI do too

Safest bet...Format, install clean, restore from your latest backup. Now I know what is likely about to happen. You are about to come back and say, "I have no backups." and/or "I have no way of installing (all or some) of my stuff." Life Lesson, maybe? Copy what you want off now. All your stuff that is important to you. If you have one infection, you likely have many. The only way to be sure you get clean is to remove everything (best to CD/DVD really) you want to keep and clean install. Run Belarc Advisor on it right now and print the results. You'll get a lot of useful information from that. You can also backup your stuff manually by obtaining/creating a Windows Ultimate Boot CD or Ubuntu Live CD (or something similar to either of those two) and booting with it and accessing the C drive and copying off onto external media (of your choice - including network) your "important" (put in quotations because if you don't have backups - was it *really* that important?) files/folders/Internet Favorites/Bookmarks/emails/contacts/music/pictures/documents/etc. You could even make a complete image of the entire drive so you have it for posterity and/or can browse it later for things you might forget now.-- Shenan Stanley MS-MVP --How To Ask Questions The Smart Wayhttp://www.catb.org/~esr/faqs/smart-questions.html
