large file transfer (15 gb) stops (WIN 7 to WIN 7)
transfer of a large file (15 GB) stops between 2 computers on the same network (after 5 GB are transferred).
the source is WIN 7 x86 and the destination is WIN 7 x64.
internet security kaspersky is turned off.
both computers use static IP.
DHCP is disabled on router.
NetBIOS is enabled.
please, help!

get rid of netBIOS
dhcp saves on ip address costs, get used to using it
i suggest using Microsoft security essentials, links on my IT siteMy MVP is for Windows XP, Vista and Windows 7 IT, and I am getting increasingly good with Visual Studio.

SORRY, IT DOES NOT WORK.
the network is:
1 ADSL MODEM
1 ROUTER
1 WIN 7 x86 SP1 RC
1 WIN 7 x64 SP1 RC
DHCP is enabled now on both modem and router.
IPv6 is disabled.
HOME NETWORK is set on both computers.
NetBIOS disabled.

Try using an archive tool and copy the file in parts. 7-zip is free and it can do it.My MVP is for Windows XP, Vista and Windows 7 IT, and I am getting increasingly good with Visual Studio.

thank you for answer, but this is not solution for me, because of deployment problems. i need to be able to do large transfers between my computers.

Looks like driver problems or the Ethernet gear is borked.
My MVP is for Windows XP, Vista and Windows 7 IT, and I am getting increasingly good with Visual Studio.

perhaps you are right , driver problems. it is not the router, because I have the same problem when I connect the computer directly (peer-to-peer), using a crossed cable.
i will try a different network adapter and after I will post the results here.
but as I remember, there was a time when I did not have this problems.

If you can afford it, try using 10 gigabit Ethernet, wicked fast.
