loosing the connection for printers
Hi, I have a problem with a Windows 7 machine with regards to printing. We have a network with windows 2003 server & windows 7, XP & Vista clients (40 clients) & 05 network printers. One windows 7 machine has a wired problem of printing. 1. User tried to print several pages & is not printing. When I checked the print que for that perticular printer I saw a few "Remote Downlevel Document" among other printing pages. not sure what is that. i cancelled that & the it prints the other pages. 2. when i tried to print a test page to other 04 printers it says "test page failed to print. Would you like to view assistant? The server print spoorler is not running. Please restart the the spooler on the server or restart the server machine" This started last week. So last week I did restart spooler on the server. restarted the server as well. restored the machine to a previous point. re added the printers It was fine then. But today I came across the same problem. Do you think its a compatibility issue wint win 7? Virus? just to let you know that when we first add Win 7 machines to the our network I had to re install printers for the second time for few machines because of a connection error. but since then it has no problems with other machines. Many Thanks milindra

The problem was one of the printer driver causing the problem (Spooler to crash). HP 4700 printer - was pain on the neck! They have released a pacth for this! Many Thanks Guys
