lpr problems under Windows 7
Hi, We are using lpr to print through our network. Due to limitation of the RFC 1179 that specify that lpr use TCP port 721-731. We use under Windows XP the registry entry UseNonRFCSourcePorts those permit us to bypass the limitation. Now we have some workstation under Windows 7 and this registry key don't wonrk on it. When we set this entry and try to print through lpr we have the answer "printer does not exist" and the event log 4009. after removing this entry we can print but we are limited to 11 files. Is there any way to bypass this limitation under Windows 7. Thanks

Printing pauses after every 11 print jobs when printed through LPR port http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2003449 If the key is correct, I suspect that the issue is caused by the printer driver. You may follow the steps in the following article to setup a LPR printer. If the proper printer driver is not listed, please download the printer driver from manufacturer website and then install it.
