lync using 2 ip addresses

Hello

i have setup a lync server in my local domain.

All clients pc have 2 ip addresses (from different networks)  set in one nic- one from local domain to have access to file server, print server and the second to have access to some web services (not internet).

lync is setup in the local domain.

Everything is ok, but sometimes the connection between clients gives error.. There is no connection due to network issuses. When i delete the second ip everything is working again, then i put again the second ip and working again. I tried to set second ip to lync server but nothing changed. The domain is 2003 domain and the lync server is in 2008 r2 and clients are xp sp3.

Is it possible to make it work in my topology???

Lync use the ICE protocol on the SIP SDP and send all possible IP addresses in a candidate list.

If the client have two IP addresses the call can sometimes fail. This is a not supported client configuration.

Hi,

Agree with Holger Bunkradt.

You need to set only one IP address for the computer which hosted Lync client.

You can try to use the firewall to block Lync communication through these IP addresses?

Like a split tunnel vpn.

But I'm not sure if this is working.

thank you for the answer, but i don't understand how to do this..

Anyway , i am going to set up nat between two networks, and i will use one ip address for my local domain, since two guys in here told me that lync cannot work using 2 ip's...
