might be at risk
I am so sick of seeing a pop up from my task bar after a restart saying Your computer might be at risk. Then I also get a larger icon that is red in the task bar that when clicked, will open my Security Essentials which for some reason is shown as Off. so I click Start Now and it starts and then I have to wait while it looks for newer definitions, which it has since I was just using my pc either moments ago or last night. Sick of it! Sick of it! I have the latest version of Security Essentials, as it was just installed last week and I get daily updates automatically from Windows Update with the settings that are on this pc.1 person needs an answerI do too

It might be because of delay of start up. Try to do defragnment and clean up and uninstall programs that you don't want. You may also try to contact support:https://support.microsoftsecurityessentials.com/For more help with this issue.

Thanks, but this is on my tablet which has just been "reimaged" with a brand new copy of Windows XP and has gotten tons of updates thru Windows Update site. I know that tablets are a bit slower than desktops or laptops, but I am sick and tired of seeing this darn Task Bar message and red icon (sorry to be so blunt!). This needs to stop and I doubt that there is anything that I can do to fix Microsoft's problem. It MUST stop. I can't be the only one experiencing this annoyance. I'm probably just the only one so far that is reporting it or talking about it on here.I have run defragment and disk clean up. There are barely any programs installed. Just Office 2003 and Paint Shop Pro.When I see this warning message and the red X icon at startup and then open Security Essentials by right clicking the task bar icon and then click Start Now, it always turns on real-time protection after a bit of a delay and sometimes says that the definitions are up-to-date and sometimes says that they are out of date (which is bull since I use this tablet for many hours each day and it is set to get updates automatically at 1pm everyday)

You can Turn off the AV notification if your confident about your AV working on its own, but being MSE thats a good choose. When the red shield comes up again click on it. On the left something says to the affect about change the way windows alerts me. Just disable the AV alert. I would not disable the other Alerts. I get the red shield at startup with XP too, But do not get it with win7. Maybe they can fix it sometime or not since XP is almost done with. I just hope the first win7 service pack fixes a lot of what us USERS grip about. Heard its coming in early 2011."There are only 10 types of people in the world. Those that understand binary, and those that don't." [_1337_Pete_]
