missing dll files
I am apparently missing some dll files. Is there a way to tell which ones are missing? I upgraded to windows 7 and downloaded it so i do not have a disk to reinstall, i am thinking of going back to vista since i do have all the disks for it. Before i do
that i would like to try to fix windows 7 so i didnt waste money buying it.

Hi Peg,
How do you know, you have missing dll files? You can verify if there is any Windows integrity warning by using SFC tool, just open an elevated command prompt and type: SFC /scannow

My computer keeps erroring about missing pathways or dll's...but i do believe i found the culprit. just dont know if its to late to save windows 7 on my desktop....i bought it off the site, no disks made yet... But anyway, i had stupidly downloaded a "recommended"
regworks download....it went to crap after that and i never put 2 and 2 together to realize that was probably causing my issues. i went to reviews of the downlad regworks and see many people have had same type of issues. Trfend wouldnt run anymore and i couldnt
uninstall it to try and reinstall...so...is there a way to save my desktop? startup can not repair it, it wont restore to earlier time, i have too many pics and music to put those on disk so i dont lose them. i can start in safe mode only. it says system repair
mode. start up repair says the files that help describe problem are c\windows\system32\logfiles\srt\...."srttrail.txt" also same logfile with the following endings..."disklayout.txt".."bcdinfo.txt"...."bootstat.dat"....."bootfailure.txt"....and x:\windows\temp\startuprepair.etl
also says unspecified changes to system configuration might have caused problem. repair action faile with error code 0x3712. i am not good with computers or computer language so if anyone can help i would greatly appriciate it. i am exhausted and frustrated.
and oh...it will not let me run as administrator for command prompt. it doesnt even give me the option.

Hi,
Please boot your computer in Safe Mode, then try the suggestion provided by Sergio.
Also, you may try In-place upgrade in Safe Mode. The error code means the component store has been corrupted.
