msmail.dll Windows Live Mail team referred me to OS support.
On two different XP PCs I have Windows Live Mail working from the username that installed Windows Live Mail. If I sign on to another username (with or without admin privs) Widows Live Mail doesn't work.On one PC I get the error about msmail.dll could not be loaded error and Windows Live Mail doesn't load at all. On the other PC Windows Live Mail starts but the alternate usernames can't create successfully add an email account. The new email account wizard claims success, but no email account is visible in the Live Mail screen. This and the trouble shooting to date are documented in two threads in the Windows Live Mail forums listed below. For history of what has been tried see:http://windowslivehelp.com/thread.aspx?postid=7e7e17c4-1afc-439f-87dc-4b7540b2b12f#7e7e17c4-1afc-439f-87dc-4b7540b2b12fFor the resulting escalation where I was refered to the OS see:http://windowslivehelp.com/thread.aspx?threadid=6db7e774-aa67-4f74-bb18-a61fa81cce091 person needs an answerI do too

Hi, I would suggest you to create a new user account, then create a mail account and check whether you are able to login or not. Follow the steps mentioned in the article given below to create a new user account. How to create and configure user accounts in Windows XPhttp://support.microsoft.com/kb/279783 Thank you and Regards.Thahaseena MMicrosoft Answers Support Engineer.Visit our Microsoft Answers Feedback Forum and let us know what you think.

Thahaseena M,Thank-you for your reply. That solution was tried and didn't work. The same problem existed under the new user accounts, regardless of whether they had admin or not.Todd
