There is an error that msvcrt40.dll is missing when I log in to my computer

Do you mean you see a message like this:AAM Updates Notifier.exe - Unable To Locate ComponentThis application has failed to start because MSVCRT40.dll was not found. Samhrutha G:Why don't you first recreate the problem on your system?After you recreate the problem, run the system file checker to scan your computer and see if it helps.You will find that running the system file checker does not help and it is a waste of time.Since the system file checker is likely going to ask for an XP installation CD (which most people do not have) the system file checker will probably not run in the first place so now it is a frustrating waste of time. Even it you were able to come up with an XP installation CD and get the system file checker to run successfully is still will not help.If you need help understanding what the system file checker really does, how it works, what it does and what it does not do and why it will not help, I will be happy to explain it, then you can test it yourself and learn how it really works when you get done.Do, or do not.
