multiple wireless network of the same name
I connect my laptop (Thinkpad X60S on Vista Business) to a WRT54G linksys wireless router and let's say my SSID is HOME. My problem is this: When I try to connect Vista sees 3 and sometimes 4 networks of the same SSID, e.g. HOME, HOME (2), HOME (3) and HOME (4). multiple wireless network of the same nameIt is the same network. Why is this happening and how do I solve it? Thanks.

Hi, Based on my experience, this kind of issue is usually hardware related. You could move the laptop to other wireless network and check the result. If the issue persists, please collect the following information for further research: 1) On the Windows Vista machine, click Start, right click Command Prompt and select Run as Administrator.2) Type command netsh wlan set tra yes, and press Enter.3) Reproduce the issue, and capture a screenshot for the Connect to a network dialog box.4) Go back to the Command Prompt, type command netsh wlan set tra no, and press Enter.5) Open the folder %windir%\tracing\wireless, and upload the wireless.cab file and the screenshot to the following space: https://sftasia.one.microsoft.com/choosetransfer.aspx?key=7ab14d36-4aa4-4085-b096-a160bc912362 Password: D!X1@SSB1vIjB^a]
