nVidia support degraded it seems
I have an nVidia 9500GT based video card and it worked fine in the Win7 beta with no added drivers. In the RC version however, when it came time to login, both my X9G Komodo II Sceptre monitors would go blank with no video unless I came up in plain VGA mode. I had to install nVidia beta drivers which seem to work. These are older 1280x1024 monitors but have worked fine on all previous windows systems. Thanks, DaveDave

Which make is the card? There are issues with different manufacturer's 9500GT's using other OS (no names mentioned!), mine is a PNY made one and I have no problems that I can see using the pre'release WDDM 1.1 drivers. Ofcourse I am no expert, only a home user involved only lightly in IT so this may not be the problem at all!!!Regards.

The card isa Gigabyte GV-NX96T512HP PCI Express 2.o card http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814125098though I have not checked with Gigabyte as they likely would just refer me to nVidia.A newer driver I downloaded from nVidia [185.81 and also beta] worked a bit better but I kept losing video on just the right monitor when the machine would go to sleep and sometimes it would take a long time to wakeup and the video was wonky on the left monitor. Am guessing this is an nVidia problem but Win7 RC shouldship a newer driver that works better. The driver that came with the Win7 bata,I had no problems with at all and did not install any from nVidia. I found yesterday there was a yet newer driver just posted to nVidia's site [185.85] so am trying that one now and it may have fixed the problem. I'll post later as to the results. I had severe no videoissues with a newATI card with these monitors that Ireturned for this nVidia card, as they register asgeneric PnP type so perhaps don't respond to the driver in the optimum manner. Somewhat of a common issue with older monitors especially with ATI drivers but I never hadissues with earlier nVidia drivers in the past. Thanks, Dave Dave

Well so far 185.85 seems to be working fine with my dual monitors on the nVidia9600gt card. Fingers crossed...Dave

I was wrong - I still have issues waking up from sleep - losing the right monitor and video is really wonky at first even on the left monitor. Not all the time, just sometimes apparently. Last beta version I saw no problems.Dave
