net use command not working in windows 7
hello
the net use command does not seem to work for me on my win7 machine. even entering net use /? returns the error "net is not recognized as an internal or external command operable program or batch file"
i get the same error when entering net use H:\\SERVER\SHARE
both examples work fine on my xp box.
any help is appreciated
thanks

Did you just type this in the box for Search programs and files or at an elevated
Cmd prompt?
If I type this in the Search box I get the same error, but if I open a Cmd prompt, it works fine. I opened Cmd with
Run as Administrator.

i typed it in CMD. I have admin rights but didn't try Run as Administrator .
running as admin seems to have worked, thanks.
i was originally doing this in a batch file. is there a command to tell it to run as admin within the batch file?

I think NET in Windows 7 is built into the command shell so I dont think PATH will help.
Is the workstation service started?
On the Network connections, is the Client for Microsoft Networks installed?
On the Network connections, is TCP/IP properley installed?

Could you run the script on start up?

*also, I found this. I haven't test/tried this but it could be what you're after*
"I'm currently running a startup script in form of a bat file successfully in Windows 7 (I've inserted a new registry key entry with the bat file path as value in
Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run) ."
