My laptop with vista home premium will not connect to my wireless. There is a step by step guide on microsoft, but when it gets to the chose a connection option, Mine only shows 4 options while the step by step shows 6 options. (http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb878035.aspx) The option it says to take is not available on my laptop (manually connect to a wireless network) Without that option I am stuck. Can you help? tom

See if you can set it up this way: Network and Sharing Center, Manage network connections, Double click your wireless connection, Click Wireless Properties, Security Tab.

Sorry for asking but did your computer come with a wireless card? If yes follow the steps below. Then you should reinstall your wireless driver. Go to Control Panel, "Classic View" Device Manager, Network Adapters, Right click your wireless and click Uninstall, Do not put a check in the box "Delete the driver software for this device " If you have the driver software then it is preferable to delete it also. Again if you have the driver software you can also do this first: Control Panel, Programs and Features, Click your Wireless one time and from the menu on top click Uninstall. Then reinstall the driver software. If you do not have the wireless driver software you can get it from your computer manufacturer.

I had it hooked up a few months ago and it worked fine. So it must have a wireless card altho it does show it.
