password lost (log on) and cd drive not working
My childs 6 or 7 yr. old comp. (xp) i was up dating it to give to her uncle becouse the cd drive stopped working and he could still us it as a internet comp. so i updated windows and restarted comp. after that it asked for password so it could log on. my child who has never loged the comp. off cant remember the password and theres no cd drives to reset comp. what do i do?

in some cases, administrators can use the back door method to gain access to windows and fix/modify the user accounts. simply reboot pc and hold down the f8 key after the initial bios tests complete.
