monitor set to turn off in 1 hr, hard drive in 2 hr., standby never--saved as home/office desk---monitor never turns off, not sure of hard drive2 people need an answerI do too

Check whether there are any chipset updates from your PC maker or hardware maker (motherboard) if a generic PC, and NOT from MS Update. Also check whether these makers have a Bios update that is relevent to your problem. If updating the Bios ensure you follow instructions explicitly, a failure could lead to a none functioning PC

i already updated both chipset and bios from dell, still same problem

I still have same problem of no monitor or hard drives shutting off as set to do.

I have an 8 year old sony desktop and the power options worked until Aug. 2010 I suspect some auto update changed something but I don't kow what
