Recently changed from norton to Windows live one care on a pc running windows xp pro. Before the change there was no problems with the home network with one pc running xp the other running vista home. The connection sharing machine was xp. After the change the vista machine was unable to get out onto the net. When looking closely i notice that the vista machine is now telling us that the network is unidentifyable with data sent but not recived but also has made the network a public network and have no option to change this to a home network but the option is there to change it to a private network but doing so makes no difference as it simply reverts back after restart. Nothing else has changed hadware or software wise but deletion of norton and input of one care. I have checked firwall settings and internet options also checked that all i.e services are running. When i try to ping the host machine all four parts are returned failed with the eroor code 1231. Can anyone help i have never come across this before and now it is getting the better of me?
